IVORY COAST – Fighting Corruption: The First World Bank Anti-Corruption Alliance (ICHA) Forum in Africa to be held from 14 to 16 June 2023 in Abidjan

Abidjan, The efforts of Côte d’Ivoire under the leadership of the Head of State, Alassane Ouattara, in the fight against corruption and the promotion of good governance are recognized. For its first time in Africa, the International Corruption Hunters Alliance (ICHA) International Anti-Corruption Alliance Forum will gather 300 people, 50% women and 50% men, in Abidjan from 14 to 16 June 2023.

For its success, held this Monday, February 13, 2023 at the ministerial office of the Promotion of Good Governance and the Fight against Corruption, a working meeting co-chaired by Minister Epiphane Zoro with the steering committee for the preparation of the said Forum. The World Bank participated by videoconference.

“ICHA will raise the profile of our country as one of the least corrupt nations according to the latest Corruption Perception Index report released by the Non-governmental Organization Transparency International on January 31.”, announced Epiphane Zoro on her Facebook page, not without welcoming the international recognition of the efforts made by the Ivorian government in the fight against corruption and the promotion of good governance.

Indeed, our country, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, through the policy of the Ivorian State in the fight against corruption, has become one of the least corrupt countries. According to the latest report of the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2022 of the Non-governmental Organization Transparency International released on January 31, Côte d’Ivoire has won six (06) places in the perception ranking and obtained one (1) point in the row from 36/100 to 37/100.

“Ranked 99th out of 180 countries, Côte d’Ivoire can therefore be pleased to have gained 06 places from 105th in 2021 to 99th in just 12 months,” the press release said.

ICHA is a global forum that brings together anti-corruption practitioners from more than 100 countries, representing both advanced and developing nations, to analyse national and global developments related to the fight against corruption and to exchange knowledge and good practices essential to the advancement of its agenda.
