NIGER: President Mhamadou Issoufou congratulates his counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa

It was through a Facebook post that President Mahamadou Issoufou congratulated his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa on his leadership on Friday, June 12, 2020.

“I congratulate President Cyril Ramaphosa for his leadership and for convening the 2nd AU video conference on the #COVID19 health crisis,” he said.

The Nigerian Head of State also stressed the need to design innovative financing to consolidate investments on the African continent:”To finance the investments that Africa needs, it will be necessary to design innovative financing.It is imperative to establish a new paradigm, a new global political and economic governance, governance that will be more based on solidarity, equality, justice and dignity.”

Finally, he pronounced on the death of Georges Floyd who died under the knee of a white policeman, a death that burned the United States. “The symbol of the old world that must be changed and that constantly violates these values is the assassination on May 25, 2020 in the United States, of George Floyd. Our conference must condemn this heinous act without reservation,’ he stressed.
