Captain Oumar Touré of the Colobane Research Section is free. In charge of the famous case Adji Sarr/Ousmane Sonko, he had been sanctioned by the hierarchy for disclosure of the secret of the investigation and abandonment of post. He served his two-month sanction at the Intervention Gendarmerie Legion (LGI) in Mbao, in the Senegalese capital. His file is now on the table of the Head of State who will decide on his reinstatement in his office or his outright removal from the national gendarmerie.

Captain Touré, the assistant to the SR commander, was released after two months of disciplinary action at the Mbao LGI. The man, just 32 years old, was being prosecuted for abandonment of his post and disclosure of the secrecy of the investigation. His fate is in the hands of the President of the Republic Macky Sall after the installation of a discipline commission. The head of state will decide whether to keep him in the gendarmerie or to disband him for insubordination. The man worked for 8 years in the service of the National Gendarmerie with 2 years spent at the SR.

An investigator in the case of the complaint lodged by the masseuse of Sweet Beauté, Adji Sarr, who accused the opponent Ousmane Sonko of repeated rapes and death threats, Captain Touré had submitted his resignation on 8 March 2021, day Ousmane Sonko was indicted and placed under judicial supervision. For good reason, the Judicial Police Officer (OPJ) said he feared for his safety and that of his family. In his statement published on the whatsapp group of his classmates and then taken up in all social networks, he claimed to be subject to increased surveillance by men whose identity he did not know. Even his calls, he said, were bugged. “Since the leak of the minutes concerning this investigation I have been followed by individuals whose real motivation I do not know until I was informed that they were elements of the National Directorate of Senegalese Intelligence. On a private matter, I was rather surprised by this measure,’ the captain said to justify his withdrawal from the file.

Recall that Captain Touré is accused of being in the pay of the opponent, Ousmane Sonko. Accusation that he totally denied arguing that he met the leader of Pastef only on the day of the delivery of his first summons. His resignation from the SR had surprised even his colleagues who presented him as a serious, hard-working and very discreet man.
