The exit of Déthié Fall, Vice-President of the Rewmi party in the National Assembly on Friday, November 27, 2020, on the policy of the Senegalese government, did not please Idrissa Seck, the party’s general secretary. The latter, now an ally of President Macky Sall, and who joined the government on 1 November 2020, found the criticism disturbing. Immediate effects! 48 hours later, he decided to thank Déthié Fall, his right-hand man in the party. He was replaced by Ndèye Maguette Diéye, a woman.

This is what Déthié Fall said in the Chamber, which set the whole thing on fire, remarks which were made on the occasion of the vote on the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Equipment: “You have some of the solution in your hands, but it requires the vision to leave Diamniadio to join the Senegal River Valley, to join the Anambé lands, and the 150,000 hectares that can also be used.” a-til said, before continuing: “If we translate this into turnover, economists know what I’m saying, we can reserve the 30 to 40% as wage bill. That’s the equivalent of $90 billion. Even if we take a young person, we allocate him three million annual salaries, the equivalent of 250,000 CFA francs, in monthly wages, we would have got thirty thousand young people out of unemployment today. So we are in the process of getting out of currencies, of enriching others, while we have the opportunity to use it internally to solve the unemployment issue, also the issue of food sovereignty. And this bill is much higher than the budget allocated to youth, livestock, industrial development. ‘ This radical and critical position on the policy of the government of the President of the Republic Macky Sall resulted in Déthié Fall being expelled from the Rewmi party two days later before he was transferred to another post, or even being removed from his position as vice-president of the party.
