SENEGAL: Sheikh Oumar Talla honoured by the Mayor of Pikine Nord

Sheikh Oumar Talla, Councillor for the Municipality of Pikine North and the City of Pikine, was the recipient of the 2020 Local Leadership Award. A distinction presented by the Mayor of Pikine-Ouest and former Minister of Youth, Pope Gorgui Ndong this Sunday, December 27, 2020.

The young Sheikh Oumar Talla is engaged in the fight for the contribution of young people to political and development activities. Coordinator of sustainable development projects of the commune of Pikine Nord and columnist on television Sen Tv and radio Zik fm, he was delighted to have received this distinction and dedicates the award to all young people who do not stop contributing to the development of Senegal. 

On his Facebook page, Cheikhou Oumar Talla expresses his feelings of satisfaction and pride at being a worthy son of Pikine. “I dedicate this award to all young people who are fighting for another Senegal. Thank you all for the constant support! It motivates me more to persevere and give my best for another Senegal.”

Pikine is the second most populated city in Senegal. It is a new agglomeration located at the arrival of the Thiès-Dakar motorway.
