As part of the fight against the spread of Covid-19, the vaccine remains the last resort of countries to permanently stop the evolution of the pandemic. As a result, Senegal plans to enter the dance and obtain the vaccine in the first quarter of 2021. This is at least the information given, on Monday, December 14, 2020, by Dr.El Hadji Mamadou Ndiaye, director of prevention and expert in practical vaccinology.

According to Dr Ndiaye, vaccination will be safe because Senegal only uses vaccines that are fully validated by the World Health Organization. ‘Senegal has only used vaccines approved by Who for 40 years. Senegal is waiting for the approval of the Who vaccine. We will not be using a vaccine that the Who does not approve. The Who is our guarantor of health security,’ the public health specialist told radio Sud fm.

As for the availability of the first dose, Dr El Hadji Mamadou Ndiaye says with certainty that it will be in March 2021. We have a guarantee that the vaccine will be available for our country in March 2021. ‘ Senegal, which is already in a second wave of contamination, has hardened prevention measures by making it mandatory to wear the mask and by prohibiting any form of gathering in public spaces.
