FOOTBALL: Senegal holds onto Brazil (1 – 1).

The winner of the Copa America and vice champion of Africa met in Singapore this Thursday, October 10 at 12h. A friendly match where the Lions of Teranga have managed to stand up to the Seleçao which remains on an exceptional series of 33 games and a single defeat against the African teams.

The Brazilians scored a goal early in the 9th minute. The Liverpool Reds striker Roberto Firmino, found in depth by Gabriel Jesus, deceives the Senegalese goalkeeper, Alfred Gomes, with a pretty flick (1 – 0).

A little in difficulty in the control of the game especially in the midfield, Senegal will rely on the feat of his genius, Sadio Mané. An acceleration on the left that caused Paris defender Marcos Corrêa to fall foul of Marquinhos in the penalty area in the 45th minute. The number 10 Senegalese leaves the care to Famara Diédhiou who turns the penalty (1 – 1).

In the second half, a few minutes from the end of the game, in the 85th minute, Sadio Mané found the post on a magnificent curling shot, right foot. The Lions will have suffered during this second period but manage to hold in check the Brazilian selection.
