The date of the presidential elections is scheduled for November 24, 2019. The opposition grouped within the MADEM-GROUP 15, Movement for Democratic Alternation, requires the publication of the electoral register. She also insists on the transparency of the whole process to achieve a free and transparent election.

MADEM-GROUP 15 brings together all the forces of the opposition Bissau-Guinean. Umaro Sissoco Embalo, former Prime Minister of President José Mário Vaz from 18 November 2016 to 12 January 2018 and Brigadier General, was unanimously elected by all opposition leaders as a candidate for the presidential election.

Indeed, its mission is to conduct discussions with all stakeholders including ECOWAS missionaries to ensure that elections are held in a transparent manner. A position on which members of the opposition are still uncompromising.

However, this demand of the opposition may run up against the decision of the government, the latter does not wish to reopen the voters lists for new registrations. Information confirmed by government spokesman Armando Mango.
