The American artist of Senegalese origin, Akon laid the foundation stone of “Akon City”. This green city will be the first project of this scale in Senegal. Futuristic, it will be built in the village of Mbodiène, a hundred kilometers south of Dakar.
Akon City is inspired by Wakanda. According to the artist, 20% of this funding has already been mobilized. The city, whose buildings will meet high environmental quality standards, has a cost of $ 6 billion or about 80% of the Senegalese budget for the year 2020. The construction of the ecological city Akon City will begin in the 1st quarter 2021.
