On a visit to Nigeria, Senegalese President Macky Sall was received by his counterpart Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, the capital. As part of this working visit, he proceeded to the inauguration of the new chancellery of Senegal in Nigeria.
“I am delighted to be in Abuja, Nigeria today for a visit of friendship and work and thank President Muhammadu Buhari for the cordial and warm welcome.” said the Head of State, Macky Sall. The latter proceeded with the inauguration of the new chancellery. A brand new building is an eloquent sign of the consideration and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two friendly Nations.
As a reminder, after the move of Lagos the economic center of the country to Abuja in 2006 the diplomatic mission of Senegal was rented. Building a new chancery was therefore a necessity for diplomatic representations residing in Nigeria. It was to provide a positive response to this infrastructure need that this jewel was created. The Head of State intends to continue the process of consolidation of diplomacy in the sub-region.
