Ivorian rapper Didi B has just released a new Opus with Senegalese artist Am Bongo. The sound titled «Shogun» whose clip was shot in Senegal is now a hit. While Hologne’s deSaraï’s husband breaks form and scores in terms of streamings with his album Mojo Trone III, no one expected this single full of talent and diversity. The Didi B community has surely thought of a rhythm that is similar to its hit titles like «Cherie coco», «En haut» or «Game de djai». But the prodigy of Ivorian music has well hidden his game with his title Shogun. Precisely, the choice of the title makes a nod to his musical career strewn with obstacles that triumph by his hard work and his rage to succeed.

Shogun is a title that designated the man who led the imperial troops against the northern tribes. For the artist Didi B, this title tells his career and his rise towards a success that wants to be sustainable. The rapper has chosen his title well, since he has been pulling the strings for over a year in the Ivorian music industry.

His title Shogun was released this Monday, March 13, 2023 and we have to note the musical mix that brings a certain originality to the sound. A mix of Ivorian rap on a Mbalax background (Senegalese musical rhythm composed of tama and saba). A complex challenge that the artist Didi B took up brilliantly, making proud several nations including Côte d’Ivoire. The video, shot in Senegal, brings a certain charm to his title Shogun. We applaud the talent of Didi B, but especially his dexterity. He was born on 3 April 1992 in the village of Ki-Yi in Abidjan. He is best known for being a member of the band Kiff No Beat, which has separated since 20206.

Didi B is considered one of the most popular rappers in Côte d’Ivoire, with millions of followers on social networks. He has 2.4 million followers on Instagram, 2.2 million followers on Facebook, and 424,000 followers and 52 million views on his YouTube channel.
Bassa Zérehoué Diyilem was born in the village of Ki-Yi in Abidjan. His father, Abou Bassa Bomou, is a pianist, actor and arranger, while his mother, Pehoula Zéréhoué, is a choreographer and dancer of the Ki Yi M’Bock. Booba recently announced the signature of his new artist, Didi B Didi B is an artist who has already proven himself in the world of music thanks to his many collaborations with talented artists.

Didi B began his career at the age of 3, appearing in the video “Dearth Society” of the legendary singer Meiway. In 2013, he won the Best Rap Team award with Kiff No Beat.

In 2018, he released his single “Mojaveli”, which allowed him to showcase his talent in the world. In November 2019, taking advantage of the success of his group, he released another single entitled “Assinie”, named after a seaside town south of Abidjan, very popular with tourists and the Ivorian petty bourgeoisie. The song became the holiday anthem in all the capitals of French-speaking Africa, and he made a remarkable appearance on stage with his band Kiff No Beat.

On August 27, at his concert entitled “They created something bad”, he officially released his hit that garnered 10 million views in just two months. Didi B continues to be an important figure in the Ivorian and African music scene, due to his undeniable talent and growing popularity. Fatimata Diallo BA

Fatimata Diallo BA, a French-Senegalese writer, recently made her mark on literary minds by winning the prestigious Cénacle Prize for Young Writers of Senegal in 2023 with her poignant novel «Rouges Silences».

Originally from Dakar, Fatimata grew up in a rich cultural atmosphere, and her academic background led her to the university benches in Poitiers and Paris, where she studied Classics. This Franco-Senegalese acquired a unique perspective, merging the literary influences of the two cultures that shaped her.

With seventeen years of experience teaching in the suburbs of Paris, Fatimata Diallo BA decided to return to Senegal, where she currently works as a teacher of French and Latin at the prestigious Jean Mermoz French High School in Dakar. Her dedication to education and the transmission of knowledge is reflected in her active commitment to her students.

«Rouges Silences», his award-winning work, is a testament to Fatimata’s literary sensibility. The novel, on deep and universal themes, captivated the jury of the Cénacle Young Writers Prize, attesting to the author’s exceptional talent.

As part of the 9th edition of the Galsen Hip-Hop Awards, the Ze-Africanews team met Y.DEE the initiator of this cultural project.

Y.DEE lives between Senegal and the United States, he returns every year for this program in the city of Dakar. Host, columnist and rapper, he told us about his career, his impressions at the end of the 9th edition of the Galsen Hip Hop Awards edition 2023. During this edition the 50 years of Hip Hop were celebrated.

The African continent was represented at this edition. The older generation was honoured as forerunners and elders in the field.
