The Algerian men’s handball team will travel to Cairo on a special plane to take part in the 2021 World Cup in Egypt, from 13 to 31 January 2021, announced Mohamed Djeraoui, Director General of Sports at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MJS). The Algerian selection will fly to the Egyptian capital on a special plane on January 11, 12 or 13 for its participation in the 2021 World Cup. The Ministry of Youth and Sports has spared no effort in making available to the Algerian Handball Federation (FAHB) all the logistical and material means for a better preparation of our representatives at the next global meeting,” he said.

The MJS has made available to the Algerian selection a special plane for his trip to Bahrain, But the national coach finally decided to skip the stage in order to spare his players and avoid possible injuries before the start of the world competition. Governments have always responded favourably to FAHB’s requests, as have all national federations,” said Mohamed Djeraoui.

However, the FAHB would have benefited from a financial envelope of 45 million dinars (FCFA 181.8 million), from the special allocation account for the year 2020, for the preparation of athletes for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the 2022 Oran Mediterranean Games, as well as another financial extension estimated at 19.5 million dinars (78.8 million FCFA), dedicated to the preparation of national teams, according to the APS.

A historic qualification of Senegal against a brilliant team from Brazil, 14 times world champion of Beach Soccer and the most titled nation of the discipline. With a precious success (5 – 4) this Thursday, August 26, 2021, the men of Ngalla Sylla have reached their goal which was to reach the last square of the world. This is the first time the Senegal team has reached this level of competition.

The Senegal team of Beach Soccer never ceases to surprise by continuing to win. The Senegalese have managed to eliminate the Brazilian team, also known as the “Reis da Praia”, understand the kings of the beach. With a stellar Al Seyni Ndiaye, Senegal won 5-4 goals and qualified for the first time in the semi-final of a Beach Soccer World Cup.

“We thank God for this great victory and a historic qualification for the semi-finals. Brazil is one of the best teams in this discipline, but we believed until the end. When we left Senegal, our first objective was to reach the semi-finals and that’s it. Since 2007, we stopped in the quarter-finals.” said Captain Al Seyni Ndiaye after the game.

They believed it and they did it. It is both beautiful and historic, having lost four quarter-finals in the past. The goalkeeper also captain Al Seyni Ndiaye and his teammates have already reached their first goal and, who knows now, the dream is allowed to a single match now in the grand final.

The French women’s handball team qualified in the final on Friday 06 August 2021 after beating Sweden (29-27). The olive players Krumblholz made a great performance with a decisive Cléopatre Darleux in the goals.

The French defeated Sweden on Friday after a very close game in the Tokyo Olympics semi-final (29-27). They will face Norway or Russia on Sunday in the final.

After winning the silver medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016, the French handballers will compete in a new Olympic final on Sunday in Japan. The Swedes were able to defeat Krumblholz in the pool match (28-28).

With the same coach, Olivier Krumbholz, this selection won from 1999, ten medals in major international events, including a first title at the 2003 World Championship in Croatia and a second, fourteen years later, at the 2017 World Championship in Germany, more than a year after winning the silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Exceptionally, the men’s and women’s national handball teams are world champions in the same year. Like their French counterparts in 2010 and 2015, the Bleues held the world and European titles simultaneously in 2018, after their first victory on the continental stage, at home in Bercy on December 16 in the final against Russia. This victory allowed them to qualify directly for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where they have just reached their second consecutive final.
